Berting was an escaped convict. Boggart was a cab driver whom he took hostage when he bolted from jail. The two of them landed in a primitive island where all of the inhabitants were under the control of a religious cult . The cult had a fake prophet for its leader who was now after the newcomers. Berting and Boggart who had eventually become allies disguised themselves as priest so that they might be able to leave the island.
